ABOUT US

Claudia P. Gomez, Founder/CEO, received her Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from New York University in 1981.  After graduation, she moved to Rochester, NY and worked as a registered nurse in hospital settings until 1990, when she became employed by a local plaintiff law firm as a Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC).

In 1995, Ms. Gomez formed a medical-legal consulting business working with attorneys (both locally and nationally) that specialize in medical malpractice, personal injury and criminal law.

In 2000, she  advanced her skills as a Forensic Nurse and formed Alpha CHECKPOINT as an extension of her forensic expertise and, since then, has been providing laboratory testing and medical-consulting services.  Alpha CHECKPOINT was established as a minority, woman-owned small business with an unwavering attention to the company’s core values, mission and objectives.

In 2006, Ms. Gomez co-founded LNCExchange.com, a professional listserv for legal nurse consultants, attorneys, experts, and forensic & medical-legal consultants.  Since its inception in February 2006, and with a history of over 2300 members, LNCExchange has evolved into a valuable networking, educational and business resource.  Group and private exchanges on the listserv cover a wide range of topics, including those pertinent to medical-legal issues, case analysis and small business topics, among others.
